Need some advice from anyone who’s done this recently!

We’re in the Northeast and looking to start getting quotes on tearing down our current one-car detached garage and replacing it with a 2-car detached garage.

We’re open to traditional stick-built, metal, or even Amish-built options if the quality is there and the pricing makes sense.

Would love to know:

• Who you used (if you’d recommend them)
• Ballpark pricing for your project
• Whether metal vs stick-built vs Amish-built was worth it
• Anything you wish you knew before starting (permits, foundation, setbacks, etc.)

Trying to figure out the smartest route before we start meeting with contractors. I would love to spend under 30k but I know that’s not realistic…..sighhh Thanks!
