What if I just show up like I work there anyway

I've been applying for roles in bookstores for two years now. I have 20 years customer service and sales experience, as well as a background in English literature from university. All my applications are ignored, and the few interviews I've had, ghosted.

But I think of the quotes "dress for the job you want, not the job you have" and "if you want something done, do it yourself", and I find myself tempted to obtain a staff shirt of a certain franchise and go to their multi-level store in the city and just start working. Making sure books are in the correct spaces on the shelf. Answer customer enquiries to the best of my ability. I probably know the store better than some of the staff, I'm familiar with all sections of the store.

Do I think this is a good idea? Not really. In fact it might destroy any chances I have of working in a bookstore ever, but atp it seems like they're not gonna hire me anyway and I don't care anymore :)
