so i (f17) have been dating my boyfriend (m17) for about three months, but i’ve known him for more than two years. in that span of three months, he’s only gotten me one gift. nothing for valentine’s day, our first anniversary, or three month anniversary. the only thing he’s gotten me was for our two month and it was a box of 12 chocolates. he’s never once even offered to pay for something for me, yet i pay for him all the time. he always says he’ll pay me back but never does, which i don’t really mind but i wish he’d pay it back by getting me something.
i don’t want to feel like a gold digger or a material girl. i mean, we’re seventeen, we don’t have much money. but i constantly give him gifts that i make, like cookies and paper flowers and stuff like that and i just wish he’d do the same.
it’s hard because sometimes i feel like he doesn’t love me because he doesn’t get me stuff, but i know he does. he tells me he loves me and whenever we’re together he’s super touchy and clingy and flirty. still, i don’t know what to do. i don’t want to feel greedy or like a bad girlfriend. what should i do? how should i talk to him about this?
