I’m going to try and make this as short as possible so bear with me. I live in a dorm at ASU on the Tempe campus, and when I open my door I am outside. Today, I walked outside and saw two baby birds with no feathers and eyes closed. I picked them up quickly because I am on the second floor and they easily could have fell to their deaths. I inspected them and they can move their heads and all four limbs. I kept them outside where they fell but watched outside my window all day but the parents didn’t come back. This is hard to explain but their nest is in a crack in the ceiling and it is barely visible. They were under the nest all day and nothing happened. I didn’t see the parents or any other siblings. Now, it is night time, so I decided to bring them inside. They are in a small cardboard box wrapped in some tissue and a candle warmer is above them (it was all I had). How to I care for these birds until I can give them to someone who can rehabilitate them (I’m planning on calling Liberty Wildlife in Phoenix and hoping they have a solution). I used ChatGPT and Google and it is giving conflicting information. These birds are probably 1-3 days old and ChatGPT says don’t feed them at all but Google says to feed them every 30 minutes. That is VERY different information. And if I do feed them, what do I give them? Also, should I put them back outside again tomorrow under the nest and hope the parents didn’t leave them? Give me any other helpful information and suggestions of where I can bring them if Liberty Wildlife falls through.
I really hope they are alive when I wake up and thanks for your help.
