I have a 12” thick queen hybrid mattress and I am moving soon. I’ve seen vacuum bags for mattresses and am wondering whether they would work for a hybrid mattress (i.e., contains metal springs). I can’t seem to find any consistent guidance, and the manufacturer (Sertra) has no guidance. I have access to a shop vac so I have a slight advantage over a typical home vacuum. For the purposes of this move, I would be able to unpack it within 24 hours of sealing it.

Is it safe to use a vacuum packing bag on a hybrid mattress? If so, how much compression could I expect to get, and would I be able to roll it or at least fold it to some degree without causing permanent damage?
