Issue with Identity Verification for Expatrio
Hey,
I recently arrived in Germany about 2 weeks ago for my Masters. In that time, I have been continually trying to unblock my Expatrio account.
However, I am unable to complete my Postident Identity Verification. I have tried completing the process 3 times at as many different Postbanks, but after each time Expatrio keeps asking me to do the verification again, with a new coupon.
Neither Expatrio nor the Postbank officials bother to tell me what’s causing this issue. I am providing all required documents and the coupon code each time.
When I emailed Expatrio, they suggested I either switch to another blocked account provider or come in-person at their Berlin office. WTF? That’s a 6hr train journey for me even with a paid ICE ticket. And switching over to another blocked account provider doesn’t reassure me that Expatrio wouldn’t cause more inconveniences. Crazy how much trouble I’m facing to access my own money.
I really don’t know what my options are now. Can someone guide me if they faced a similar issue? Am I doing something wrong during the identity verification? What should I do?
