Hi folks, a while ago I stupidly dropped my 2010 Fender American Standard jazz bass, resulting in a crack in the fretboard finish. I think perhaps the fret wire between the 2nd and 3rd fret also took a knock, possibly resulting in oils, grime etc being able to find its way in and discolour the metal(?).
The damage is purely cosmetic and in no way affects how the instrument plays, however I'm a bit of a perfectionist and the bass is in pristine condition apart from this one flaw, which irks me probably more than it should! Plus my dad bought me the bass as an 18th birthday present so it means a lot to me, and I'd ideally like to keep the instrument in as tip top shape as possible.
So my question is - is this a repairable issue? And if so, how much would you expect a repair like this to cost? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
