Bihar State Sports Authority to Host District Level Selection Trials for Taekwondo, Kabaddi and Badminton; Young Athletes Invited to Participate

The authority has issued an open call to all aspiring young athletes across the state, requesting them to actively participate and showcase their skills.

Designed to scout grassroots talent, these trials will grant selected participants access to professional coaching, modern sports infrastructure, dietary support and a direct path to national and international level competitions.

If you are a local Bihari athlete, trials are being organized for the Khelo India State Centre of Excellence (Athletics) for the State Sports Academy, Rajgir, Nalanda.

Trials Date: 14 & 15 May 2026
Venue: Patliputra Sports Complex, Kankarbagh, Patna

Most people in Bihar still don’t know that the Bihar Government is building a serious sports ecosystem through the Bihar State Sports Authority and Khelo India at the State Sports Academy, Rajgir.

These athletics trials are being conducted for selection into the academy.

Selected athletes can receive free facilities like:

  • Hostel/accommodation
  • Food & mess facilities
  • Professional coaching
  • Gym and sports science support
  • Access to modern stadiums and synthetic tracks
