Hey, I think my starter motor is gone & getting ready to buy a new one to replace just want a second opinion. Sounds like the motor is spinning but not engaging with the fly wheel to me which is like yeah fine need a new one but what throws me off is that it always starts fine when cold. So like first thing in the morning it starts first try, after work it starts first try but when I go into a shop or stall (which was very common when I first bought the car & it has been happening the whole time I’ve had it) it makes this noise.
Any insight on why it only works first time when cold or just a confirmation on my diagnosis would be appreciated before I go and spend the £40/ £50 on a new stater that would be great 👍🏻
