It’s not hard to hold people accountable

Here’s the brief context: there is currently a It’s a massive scandal involving one of Thailand wealthiest families, the owners of Singha Beer.

A well known marine activist named Psi Scott publicly accused his older brother, Pi Scott, of sexually abusing him for years during their childhood.

The older brother wife, who is a famous Thai actress(Mild Lapassalan) posted a statement and “evidence” on her official Instagram account, but they weren’t real evidence, they didn’t actually proved that the accusations were fake, Instead she showed a bunch of documents, showing how the mother was suing Psi for money to “prove” that the younger brother was just bitter about the inheritance war.

That Instagram post is exactly what brought the younger brother, Psi, to leak the secret audio recording to prove the sexual abuse actually happened, and the older brother tried to denied calling the proofs “childish teasing”

The problem is that a lot of public figures in the Thai entertainment industry, including actors and actresses, liked and some even commented supporting Pi. This includes Kao, the actress from Love Design. (And other people that are on this slides)

Not only did she like the post, but she also left a supportive comment.(But after being called out she both unliked and deleted the comment without saying anything).

Now, I’m not saying that we should hate on these public figures more than the actual aggressor, but let’s not act like they shouldn’t be called out and hold accountable

Supporting an abuser is as serious as being one. All we’re asking is for fans to hold their favs accountable. I’m not one of those people who agree with threats and stuff like that, but constructive criticism are deserved. But I’ve seen a lot of people that obviously are defending their favs.

Reason why on this post I’m mentioned Kao is because Iiked her, I love love Design and I liked KaoJane, I’m very much disappointed, but since i distanced myself from parasocial relationships I don’t workship public figures anymore. At the end of the day, we don't actually know these people, this is just another reminder that these public figures aren’t superior to us.

While GL fans are mostly queer women, the BL audience besides queer women includes a large amount of straight women. Some of them only care about the entertainment. and don't really support the lgbt+ community and are homophobic.

This thing that queer women have it easier than queer men is untrue, even more upsetting that this sentiment comes from some queer women themselves, if you as a queer woman had positive experiences that’s good! but that doesn't mean queer woman in general has it easier.

The reason people seem more “okay with queer women is because society don't take us seriously, or they see this as a performance made for the male gaze. That isn't real acceptance, it's just being treated like a fantasy instead of a real person.

Lesbians women that keep getting harassed by men despite being honest about their sexuality, I’ve found out many horrific stories about this unfortunately. And in extreme cases, In several countries, lesbian women are targets of “corrective rape” where they are assaulted by men who claim they can “fix” their sexuality.

This is one of the most brutal forms of homophobia and misogyny. All this not to say that being a queer men is easier, but both face terrible struggles but in different contexts.

Since 23.5 was Gmmtv first GL series, it' was only fair for ML fans to expect the focus to remain only on the GL part. From what I’ve found out, GeminiFourth were already really popular, way more than Milklove.

They had a very established and dedicated fanbase since their announcement as part of the cast, they would have inevitably overshadowed the GL couple. Given that Gmmtv didn’t really had an history with GL series, so they needed to prove they could carry a GL story on its own merits.

Personally, I’m not a BL fan, but I understand the wish that some people have to get a ensemble series BL x GL. In an ideal world, it would be amazing to see stories of a queer friend group. However, looking at the current reality, the gap between the two genres is still huge. GL is just starting to get established, so I would wait for this genre to get well established first, especially in Gmmtv.

We’re already seeing some fanwars with Girl rules fandoms, where the plot is entirely around GL. Gmmtv wouldn’t take the risk(at least for now) to mix the thing considering how divided the GL and the BL fandom is.
