I saw him on a delivery run at work on the side of the road and couldn’t bear for him to lay dead in the road. After work I drove to where I saw him and grabbed him. I went to a quiet park behind my apartments and laid him under a tree. A sad day when the trees are empty of another friend.

I buried him with some of my plants and flowers. Roses and some tobacco flowers, salvia, wild geranium, rosemary and some leaves from a tree that the squirrels in my neighborhood love. I also gave him a few nuts in case there’s a squirrel Charon in the afterlife.

RIP little one. You were loved. 💔😔

I gave her a black walnut today. She usually buries shelled nuts I give her except for (most of the time) hazelnuts. Today I gave her a black walnut and she immediately started gnawing on it. I was curious how long it would take her. It took her an hour and a half. Beats my 4 days and a hammer.

Water couldn’t get her down this morning.
