Been using Betfair exchange more consistently lately and something I’ve started paying attention to is how much liquidity changes depending on timing.

For example:

• Pre-match (especially a few hours before) feels much tighter with smaller spreads
• Closer to kickoff, markets get more active but sometimes more volatile
• Live markets obviously have volume, but pricing can move really fast

I’ve also noticed on smaller leagues/events, even slight stakes can shift the price more than expected, which makes it harder to get matched cleanly.

Starting to feel like when you place a trade matters almost as much as what you’re betting.

Curious how others here handle it:

Do you prefer getting in early for better prices, or waiting closer to the event for more liquidity?
