Looking for beta readers: memoir about leaving post-production
Hi all. I’m looking for a few readers for a 50k-word career memoir about leaving film and television post-production, based on my own career. [sample introduction is included as a post on this submission]
The book follows a filmmaking arc from early childhood to film school, breaking into TV, then moves through reality editing, animation crunch, burnout, the slow exit from the industry, and rebuilding a career outside it. The central question is one people still ask me: “Do you miss the creativity?”
I’m not looking for a line edit. I’m looking for readers from editing, post, film, or adjacent creative work who can tell me where it feels true, where it drags, and where the industry/career observations miss the mark.
If you’re interested, comment or DM me with a bit about your background and I’ll send details.
