Question about the new School of Computing and transferring into data science/informatics

(not sure if this is where I should ask)

Hi yall! I'm going to ut in the fall as a neuroscience major but gained interest in data science or informatics as a back-up if I don't go to med school. I know that sds doesn't accept internal transfers and is only available for freshmen applicants, but I recently learned that cs, sds, and informatics are moving under the School of Computing within CNS.

Will this mean sds will be available for internal transfer? I would like to double major in sds or possibly switch my major from neuroscience to data science. I also heard switching between CNS majors (besides cs) is pretty easy so I was wondering if this would be an option by the time I start class in the fall. I also have interest in informatics and that's also going under CNS so I was wondering the opportunities of double majoring/transferring into that.

I haven't found too much info about the whole thing so just wanted to clear some questions, I also plan to ask about this during my orientation. For career insights I want to do something in biotech.

Thanks and I can't wait to come to UT!
