Help: Potential Scam
Hi everyone,
My mother received a call today from someone claiming to be from Fido/Rogers. They said since they are experiencing a retention in customers, they want to give us a new phone free of charge since we are a loyalty customer. They took our home address and email, and nothing else.
They gave my mom a bunch of options of iPhone 17 to choose from. They said they will send it this week.
When my mom told me this, I felt it was a scam somehow. I called Fido and they mentioned no record of that was in their system of this change.
Also, they called my mom 6 times using a different number until she finally picked up.
Can this be a scam? Can an address and email be used in anyway negatively? How can this be a scam? Please help me if you can!
Thank you!
