Yo what's up guys. Just to be totally transparent upfront, this isn't some big corporate launch. It's just an independent DIY project me and a few homies have been working on because we were sick of our bearings getting trashed by dirt at the park.
We've been geeking out on bearing tech and noticing a lot of standard shields either let too much dust in, or create too much friction if they are full-contact rubber. So we started messing around with a custom labyrinth-style seal structure. The idea is to create a physical barrier that traps the dirt before it hits the balls, without slowing down the spin.
We had some local rippers test our prototypes, and the dirt-blocking performance is insane right now. Since we are finalizing this little project for our crew, we are trying to come up with a name for this specific seal system. The group chat is totally divided, so I want to see what actual skaters think sounds the most legit.
Here is the shortlist:
- V-Vault System
- Labyrinth V-Seal
- V-Trench Armor
- V-Lock Deflector
- Dirt-Block
- Dust-Lock
Do any of these sound like something you'd actually trust on your setup, or do they sound too gimmicky? Any feedback on the tech or the names is appreciated!
