Hi all,

I applied for my wife’s H4 EAD on Jan 8th 2026, and the case is still in “Case Received” status. The current processing time shows around 6 months, so we’re about ~4 months in.

Now I’m planning to do an H1 transfer with premium processing.

My question is:

• Should I reapply (file a new H4 EAD along with H1 transfer under premium)?
• Or just wait for the current EAD application to get processed?

I’m trying to understand if filing concurrently with premium will actually speed things up for H4 EAD, or if it’s not worth restarting the process.

Would really appreciate insights from anyone who has been in a similar situation recently.
