Hello all!

I’ve been using the Amex Gold for about 4–5 years, and last year I was able to use my points for an international trip by transferring them to airline partners. I ended up booking two one way tickets instead of a round trip, but it worked out well and covered flights for two people.

Since I’ve used most of my points and am planning another international trip (one solo this year and one with my husband next year), I’m considering applying for the Amex Platinum. However, I don’t plan to keep it long term due to the high annual fee.

I know the value of the card really depends on individual lifestyle, but I’d love to hear about your experiences with the Amex Platinum especially whether you found it worth it for just a year.
