We're moving to PDX from out of state and looking for a rental. We got fairly far along with this one place and while they did show us the property in person there's lots of red flags. Asking for deposit before the lease (which we pushed back on), sketchy weird gmail addresses when I asked for one to communicate outside the zillow app. Also on the "lease" they sent us they didn't include the property management company so I only found "Uchoice" through searching their address which was on the lease (but no company name).
I'm really feeling this is a scam but I thought I'd check in here first and see if anyone has dealt with them before. Thank you so much!
*Edit to add that they did do a Facetime tour of the property for us which is crazy. These scams are getting so sophisticated.
