Husband's best friend (F) makes a 180

Hi,

I would like to tell a story about the age old question, can men and women just be friends?

So I was part of a group of friends in highschool. I was the only girl in the group with 3 guys. I started dating one of the guys in highschool.

The other 2 went to University with me while my then boyfriend went to go study in another province.

Friend A had a girlfriend at the time. He broke up with her and he was serial dating to a point where we had to sit him down. It was becoming a mess. He eventually calmed down.

Friend B was kind of another story. He always had a bit of a crush on me (Friend A told me this one drunken night after a party, I didn't know this). He never said anything or acted on it.

At Uni, he met a girl. She thought I was weird (I was a bit weird in hindsight) and I thought she was stuck up. We instantly disliked each other. We were civil, but never got along. It went like this for 4 years.

Eventually me and my boyfriend broke up and her circumstances changed as well (by now she was engaged to my friend) and her and I had to move in together for a few months.

I was heartbroken at this stage. She was stressed with studies and planning a wedding.

I don't know how this happened but she became the Grace to my Frankie

.

We have been best friends since then. This was 11 years ago.

During the past 11 years, I got back with my then boyfriend. We got married, had kids, a house and dogs.

Last year Friend B and his wife (my best friend by now) had problems. She was talking to me during that time and at one point, he phoned me.

I answered with "You can't trust me. Whatever you tell me, I will tell her. So be careful"

So I don't know if men and women can be friends. They probably can. But, what I can say is that sometimes you meet an even better friend through them.

I met my best friend through my childhood best friend.

And he doesn't dare mess with us.
