Batteries draining way too fast

Hello everyone,

I own an Xbox Series X since 2023, I always take good care of the controller, but I've noticed for the past year a abnormal battery consumption rate.

I'm using rechargeable batteries. I've bought 3 different brands and chargers, including Energizer, and the Ladda 2450 from IKEA - that everyone usually praises - which are the ones I'm currently using.

First of all, when I turn on my controller after inserting fully-charged batteries, the little battery icon will NEVER show as fully charged. It's more like 75% full. It happens with all batteries I use, except from the occasional non-rechargeable ones, that always seem to be properly full somehow.

Now the most annoying problem : my batteries never last more than a day or two. I only play a couple hours a day, and turn off the controller or the console when I'm away. Despite this, I'm constantly swapping batteries every 24 hours (average 4 or 5 hours of use?). I hear people talking about batteries lasting a month, or at least more than a dozen hours of use. I'm not even close to this.

I'm using my controller with a wired Turtle Beach Recon 70 headset.

I'm starting to think my controller is faulty and I should get a new one, although it works perfectly. Our could it be the headset draining it like mad?

What do you think I should do?
