6-Month Visitor Visa: Can I travel at a date, which is later than the one I specified in the application?

Hi. My wife and I periodically travel from the USA to the UK for holidays with 6-month visitor visas. At the moment, we're applying for new ones for this year. But here's a situation. My work schedule fluctuates every now and then. And initially, my employer confirmed that it would be okay to take time off in June. So, our UK visa applications are currently targeted at June (We haven't submitted them yet, still completing them). Yet, there is talk that my employer may modify the schedules and I may end up having a busy June and available free time in July or August. It's all client-related stuff – whenever they turn up.

Anyway, here's my question. If we apply now and specify travel dates, which are in June (just as we've planned it), get the 6-month visas, and then suddenly my employer changes our plans – will it be alright to miss the intended arrival date in June, specified in the application, and travel, say, in July / August / September, as long as it's all within the 6-month period of our visas (since they are multi-entry)?
