Ladies and gentlemen, I am very proud 🥲 of my first ever waxing a Barbour jacket 🧥. For those who don’t know; I bought this jacket in a very poor condition and did almost a restauration. Stripped the old stinky wax, washed, soaked and scraped 4-5 times. And today I put a fresh wax layer on it. Of course there are some imperfections. But I will repair them as soon as jacket is completely dry.

I bought this jacket on eBay after reading the seller’s description and decided to go for it. When it arrived, though, it had a horrendous smell.
Under the motto “Mama didn’t raise a quitter,” instead of complaining about the condition, I rolled up my sleeves and started cleaning this beautiful piece. The old, stinky wax took four hand washes with scraping, plus one wash in the washing machine to finally come off.

Two tins of Barbour wax are already on the way. I couldn’t wait to share this story with you, and in the next few days I’ll post the final results.
