Hey everyone! I stumbled across this incredibly unique set today for $20 and I'm hitting a wall trying to research the specific manufacturer.

Here is what I know so far:

It is a vintage display box containing six small bowls (maybe salt dips or nut cups?).

The box is labeled "Achate de Bohême" (Bohemian Agate).

The back of the box has a small stamp that reads "MC 20.-" (possibly an original price?).

The Maker's Mark: Every single bowl still has its original red octagonal foil sticker. It features a stylized white logo that looks almost like a bird/swan, or possibly intertwined letters.

When I try to reverse image search the display card, Google Lens keeps identifying it as an antique marble display because of the circular cutouts!

Bonus detail for the glowhounds: It turns out it's a mixed fluorescent set! A couple of the bowls are fiery cadmium, and one is incredibly bright uranium.

Does anyone recognize this specific red sticker, or know the exact glasshouse that produced this "Achate de Bohême" set? Any insight on the decade would be hugely appreciated!

Hey everyone! I stumbled across this incredibly unique set today for $20 and had to share. It’s a vintage French display box of "Achate de Bohême" (Bohemian Agate) glass.

When I first tried to research the display card, Google Lens kept trying to tell me they were antique marbles because of the cutouts, but they are actually a set of six little bowls!

It turned out to be an amazing mixed-fluorescent set. The bottom right and top left bowls have that stunning, fiery cadmium glow that looks like absolute lava under the UV light. (There is also one screaming bright UG piece in the top right as a nice bonus!)

Has anyone else run into Bohemian Agate glass like this before? The swirling in the glass itself is just beautiful.

Hey everyone! I decided it was time to pull the whole blue collection out for a family photo. I know blue glass glowing green is always a hot topic here and usually sparks the great "it's just manganese" debate, but I'm fairly confident in these and wanted to share!

Here is what we have in the lineup:

The Oddities: A pair of glass dentures/teeth molds. Easily some of the most unique pieces I've tracked down.

The Figurines: A little dog and an elephant.

The Heart Trinket Box: Great color on this one and a solid glow.

The Carnival Glass: A ruffled bowl and a handled basket.

I know the carnival pieces are where the skepticism usually comes in, so I included some close-up shots with the flashlight right against the glass. The metallic, iridescent finish on carnival glass is notorious for acting like a shield—it reflects the UV light and traps the glow, making it incredibly difficult to photograph the true fluorescence without blasting the base directly.

I am absolutely certain about the ruffled bowl being UG. I'm leaving about a 1% margin of doubt on the handled basket, but given the intensity when the light finally penetrates that metallic finish, I'm leaning heavily toward UG over manganese.

I'd love to hear your thoughts, especially on that handled basket! Has anyone else struggled with photographing the glow on blue carnival glass?

Hey everyone! Had a killer day out hunting and had to share these finds. The thrift gods were definitely smiling on me today. Both the vase and the pitcher were just labeled as generic "green glass"—you love to see it!

Here is the breakdown of the haul:

Heisey "Pineapple & Fan" 10" Vase (1898-1907): Grabbed this antique beauty for only $15! I did a quick search and saw what these usually go for, so I couldn't believe my luck. The pattern is stunning, and the glow is absolutely atomic.

Kanawha Crackle Glass Pitcher: Picked this little guy up for $10. The crackle texture catches and fractures the UV light in such a cool way.

"Achate de Bohême" (Bohemian Agate) Bowl Set: Snagged the whole set in the original box for $20. When I was trying to research it, Google Lens tried to tell me they were marbles based on the display card cutouts, but they are actually a set of six bowls! Even better, it's a mixed fluorescent set—one screaming bright UG and two beautiful, fiery cadmium swirls.

I've never seen anything quite like this Bohemian set before, and I can't wait to get these on the rig and scanned into the archive.

Has anyone else come across these Achate de Bohême bowls before?
