I know it sounds weird, but I’ve made this work before. The downside is kind of obvious, pixels get blurry and colors tend to look oversaturated. That’s exactly why I used the NVIDIA Control Panel. I would switch to 1920x1080 and, for some reason, everything looked natural — no weird sharpening or oversaturated colors. The worst that happened was smaller text, but it was still fine for me.

A few days ago, though, this just stopped working. Now the image looks very blurry, with strange outlines on edges, like forced sharpening, and the colors are heavily saturated.

I know it sounds odd “why not just use the native resolution?” Well... Premiere and some other programs end up with huge, cluttered UI elements in such a small space. That’s why I was using 1080p until recently.

I’ve tried messing with DSR, sharpening, and other NVIDIA settings, and even asked ChatGPT and Gemini, but no luck. If anyone has ever dealt with something like this and found a workaround, please let me know!

PS: I tried taking pictures to show the difference, but because of how the monitor works, the camera couldn’t capture it properly. It’s kind of like trying to photograph an old TV up close edges and pixels look very different in person.
