Remember when you could actually hear where a beat came from?
idk man was listening to some old tracks and it hit me, back then you could tell if a beat was from NY, LA, the south, even the midwest had its own weird soulful thing... NOW? Half the beats I hear sound like they came from the same beatmaker. no character, forgettable...
Yeah everyone uses the same kits, same sample packs... the internet made everything accessible but also kinda… flat. You can't tell where a producer is from anymore. Maybe m just getting old and nostalgic...
Curious what y'all think, is regional sound dead or am i trippin?

Been in the lab cooking up something with that dusty, raw 90s feel. Not trying to sound like a throwback ;) just trying to keep that pocket alive where the bars can breathe. If you're still writing real verses, I got a beat for you. Let it loop, sit with it, see what comes out
