I’m appealing an OSAP academic restriction (first-time restriction) due to a serious family situation involving a death/violent incident in my family that significantly impacted my studies.
My appeal includes:
A personal explanation letter
A letter from my mother confirming the situation and its impact on me
A news report and a police reference related to the incident
I wanted to ask if this is generally considered a strong set of supporting documents for an OSAP academic appeal, especially for a first-time restriction.
I’m mainly trying to understand how OSAP typically views this type of evidence combination (personal + family confirmation + external documentation). Any insight is appreciated.

is a personal letter, mom letter confirming the event happened and affected as said and a news report as long as a police report appeal due to a family passing/killing a good argument with a solid chance at appeal for a first time restriction?
