The name of this restaurant ...
I thought people on this subreddit would appreciate this. This is a restaurant in Hong Kong called 1453 Ottoman Mediterranean Cuisine. The name made me kind of chuckle. I imagine the year 1453 might be a sore spot for people of Greek origin.... maybe a little...
To be fair, I don't think the owners are trying to be triumphalist or nationalist. I don't think so, at least. The average clientale is not going to care or know about 1453. I think it's probably just an effort to evoke the history of the region, i.e. authentic Ottoman cuisine! At least that's my assumption.
