NEED ADVICE: News Agency Weird Interview
Sorry this is my first post on reddit. But I had to tell this story. A week ago a reputable news agency reached out to me for a second round interview with the Manager of Cooperate Sponsorship. During the call the manager kept coughing and told me she was working from home cause she had a cold. As the interview went on the coughing got worse, so much so, she had to mute herself. I was doing my best to not let it distract me..... it was not really her fault for having the cold, but as she continued to cough into her arm, rocking back and forth,I thought why didn't she just reschedule??? Then to put the icing on top, her boyfriend walks behind her, half dressed with just his dress shirt, socks, tie around his neck, no pants. As I'm speaking, she mutes herself turns her head says something. I couldn't tell what she was saying but it was definitely addressed to her boyfriend. This is one of the most bizarre and unprofessional interviews I've ever had considering who the news agency is. I understand that you can't control your coughing when you have a cold, but part of being a professional is knowing when you can't show up to perform your best. And then the boyfriend half dressed on camera is insane quite frankly....Should I reach out to the company and let them know what happened and ask for a redo with someone more professional?
