Waxing newbie - whats the best course of action?

I'm going away in about 7 weeks and want to get waxed a couple days before so I won't have to worry about hair removal and ingrowns whilst I'm away.

I know its usually best to have 1-2 waxes before you go away if you are just starting, however I found this out a little too late.

I shaved a few days ago, but my hair grows back quick! Usually a week or so and its already the length of a grain of rice.

Should I get a wax next week and hope the hair is long enough, then have another wax just before I go, OR continue to shave until about 4 weeks before my appointment and then just get one wax right before I go?

(One wax is preferred as I don't want to eat into my spending money for my holiday too much, but I've heard the first wax might not be as successful as the following waxes?)

I know cabin zero does them but I'm wondering if there's anything cheaper thats been tried and tested (yes £35 isn't bad but ill only be using it for 1 trip and only for the travel days there and back, and I also need to buy a suitcase to fit the overhead so I'm trying to keep costs as low as possible).

I have seen loads on amazon and get ads on tiktok and youtube shoved down my throat if I try to look up anything but would rather have recs from real people.
