Hello! I’m in the Seattle area. Every spring/summer I get bit up by something like clockwork. I seem to be hypersensitive to the bites.

I think I’ve ruled out bedbugs as I haven’t ever found any evidence of an infestation on my mattress, headboard, or pillow topper. However, occasionally, after being bit up, I do notice tiny specs of blood on my sheets.

Today, while deep cleaning around my bed, I lifted up my rug and found a couple concentrated piles of these tiny black bugs. 2-3mm in length. They were difficult to focus my camera on, but I tried my best.

I also found what looks to be light and dark brown fecal matter on my floorboards.

Can anyone help me identify what these may be? I’m not sure if they’re connected to the bites or not, but any information will help! Thank you!

Photos attached of the bugs, what appears to be fecal matter on my baseboards, and what remained under my rug after I removed the dead bugs with tweezers.

Hi!

Every year in the spring/summer I get bit up while I’m in bed. I know the seasonality doesn’t match bed bugs, but every year I worry that it may be. Today, while deep cleaning around my bed I found a bunch of small black bugs under the rug. I know these aren’t bed bugs, but am now wondering if I maybe have two issues.

I also found this spotting on the floorboards. I wiped it with a damp cloth and they didn’t smear, a layer just came off. I’m wondering if anyone might be able to help me rule bedbugs in or out based on these photos. I’ve never found any bugs, but I’m trying to get to the bottom of this once and for all.

Thanks for your help!
