Contacted Support - Can’t Get Part Until After Memorial Day

So just for fun, hypothetically speaking… if customer service determines the USB-C cord is the issue but the replacement is backordered until after Memorial Day, is there another USB-C cord this person could safely use so they can actually have a grill/smoker for the holiday weekend? If not, this hypothetical person may be buying a kettle grill as a backup plan.

I bought the Searwood 600XL a few weeks ago after spending over a year researching pellet grills, and honestly this has been a pretty frustrating experience so far.

On my third cook today, I got an E04 error and now the grill won’t even turn on. From what I’m seeing, that code points to a communication issue between the controller and the grill, which sounds like it may require replacement parts already.

So instead of using a brand new grill, I’m finishing my 0–400 wings in the oven.

I’m seriously considering returning it and going with something a little less “smart.” I had a cheap propane grill for 6 years and it fired up every single time. This whole experience has made me realize reliability matters a lot more to me than smart features—especially when those features are tied directly to whether the grill works at all and can largely be replaced with aftermarket Bluetooth accessories.

To make it worse, returning this thing isn’t exactly simple—I’ll either have to disassemble it or rent a pickup to get it back fully assembled, which is just another layer of frustration.

I’m definitely a little heated right now, but curious what others would recommend—stick it out and deal with support, or cut my losses and go with something more dependable?

Basically what the title says—I went to fire up some 0–400 wings for my third time using my brand new Searwood 600XL and immediately got an E04 error with an automatic shutdown as soon as I tried to set the temp. Of course, this happens on the one recipe where you don’t realize there’s an issue until you’re ready to cook, so the timing couldn’t be worse.

I’ve already tried resetting the controller and unplugging/replugging everything with no luck. I think the power cord into the Searwood might have come loose and maybe the controller died? Hard to tell if that’s the reason for the issue though. From what I’m seeing so far, it looks like I may be stuck either canceling dinner plans or finishing these in the oven and calling support tomorrow for possible replacement parts.

Figured I’d throw out a last-ditch ask—has anyone run into this and found a fix that might save the day? I’m about ready to return this thing because this is absolutely insane that it crapped out after 2 uses.
