Had my first ever migraine today.
I'm a 36 years old male, and through out my life I have been lucky enough to say I have never had a migraine. I have had headaches, but nothing compared to what I have seen loved ones deal with. My ex use to get them daily and had to get shots for them.
Well today I woke up with my vision being blurred, along with a jagged/sparkly distortion in the center of it. But as I woke up more, the jagged distortion became an arch covering more of my vision. I called my boss, told him I would be late as I think I messed up my retina some how and there is no way I could drive. At this point I had no pain, I was just freaking out. Googling it was a bad idea, the first result was a stroke. It was in both eyes, thankfully most results stated that if its not in just one eye it is most likely an ocular migraine. After the distortion got bigger, it slowly went away. I was able to get to work, but as soon as I described it to my boss, he told me I'm probably going to want to go home as he has had many migraines in his past and knew what was coming.
I took his advice, and let me say it was the longest drive of my life home. As soon as the pain set in, I could barely keep my eyes open, I was sweating, and feeling like I was either going to pass out or throw up.
I was able to make it to bed and pretty much passed out for another 3 hours, thankfully waking up feeling pretty normal. I scheduled an appointment for next week to make sure everything is okay.
I cant imagine dealing with them on a daily basis, and feel for anyone who suffers from them.
