Need Advice

I work in home health and we have a patient with cerebral palsey that needs checked and changed 3 times a day. The patient cannot bear any weight whatsoever. PT deemed her a 1:1 with a gait belt but there are multiple of us aides saying that she needs to be a 2:1 and that they are hurting themselves (myself included) trying to transfer her alone. The case manager says that they will train everyone on how to properly transfer her before considering making her a 2:1. I have experience lifting and transferring people that are heavier than her and I know what I'm doing. This patient just needs the support of two people or to be a hoyer as she is completely dependent on us. I only see her once a week, but I am so scared to do it again. What should I do if I don't feel safe again when I see her next? Idk who I can talk to about this because the case manager and our supervisors seem to think we are overreacting.

Home Health Aides

If you're a home health aide, where are you guys using the restroom and when do you have time for a break? In my experience so far all my clients expect me to be working during the whole visit time, which is understandable. My company only gives us a short window of time to get to each client unless we are out of town. I have had a lot of issues getting sufficient breaks/ rest times. A lot of my clients homes aren't very clean and a lot of them don't want you using their bathroom.

How do i proceed?

I work in home health and just recently started seeing a lady who has cerebral palsy. Saturday was my first visit with her, i know the other aides had been talking about if she needed to be a two person but PT deemed her a 1 assist pivot transfer w/ a gait belt because someone else was having problems transferring her themselves. She is not very heavy, just complete dead weight. On Saturday, i showed up not knowing what to expect but knowing that it might be a little difficult. My job is to transfer her from her wheelchair to her bed, change her and then transfer her back. I didnt think this would be a problem at all. So, i put the gait belt on her, position myself and the chair correctly, raise the arm rests on the wheelchair and go to lift her up on the count of 3. The first attempt, i could barely get her onto her bed and was unable to scoot her back, so I sat her back in her wheelchair. I tried two other times, her husband who is 80 tried to assist me and told me to "pull her up by her pants" because a gait belt is no good. I continued to use the gait belt as he tried to help me, but we were not successful. I had to call the on call to see about getting a 2nd person to help me. Usually we only have 3 people who work the weekends, with one being on call and is usually an hour away, but they were able to get me help. This person helping me also had trouble the previous weekend. I sent a message to her case manager about the situation. All she said was to use a gait belt and that therapy can come and help show me how to transfer her. Im sorry, but I know how to use a gait belt and I know how to properly transfer someone and when it is not safe to do it alone! My supervisor said they were trying to figure out what the big deal is.. This lady is on my regular schedule every Saturday now, and i am so scared about this situation. I do not want this lady or myself to get hurt. I know i am doing the right thing by saying I cant do it by myself, but i feel like i am not being taken seriously. I just know I am going to end up hurting myself.

We have a 1.5 old male beardie. We are thinking he may need to go to an emergency vet. He is having symptoms like, having his mouth wide open, not eating his veggies and the top soil having a smell to it. We are being told that the only ER vet that takes exotic pets is an hour away. Anyone have any advice or can point us in the right direction? Thank you!!

A few days ago, we found a few live bugs in the seams of our couch. In our lease it states that if they find our apartment to be the cause of the bed bugs we could be liable for treatment for other buildings and relocation of other tenants if necessary. We are not even sure how we could've got them in the first place, but I know it's very possible a neighbor has them. I am so scared to tell our apartments, we do not have the money for any of that and don't have the money to go stay in a hotel, and no family we can stay with. I have already washed/dried everything, sprayed, used my steam cleaner. I am hoping we caught them early and can get ahead of it but I am just so stressed about it. I have also been reading about DE and pet safety, since we have a few pets. I think I am going to order some, but what are some tips for using it when you have pets? How does the DE process work?

Made a post on here a week ago asking if it was bed bugs or not.. I live with my sibling and my husband and only my sibling was getting bites all over and we did not initially see any bed bugs so we were really confused. Turns out there was probably 10 in the creases of the arms of of one of our couches where my sibling was sitting a lot. We have not been able to see them anywhere else but I have heard that they are really good at hiding. We have already started tearing apart both of our couches and washing/ drying everything we can on high heat and I have a steam cleaner that I am using on everything. We have also sprayed down the couch. I deal with migraines so I feel like I can't do all the work that is needed to be done to treat them and the situation is stressing me out even more. I have never had issues with bugs anywhere I've lived so I just don't know what to do. We can't afford to pay an exterminator and we can't afford new furniture. We have animals so I am not comfortable using DE or anything similar. We are so stumped on how we could have got them as the people who come over the most frequently are my husband's family and they say they don't have them. We also live in an apartment so I am not sure if someone else has them and that's how it started. Should we call our apartment manager and let them know? Idk why I am just worried there will be some sort of retaliation if we tell them. Also any advice to help get rid of them and keep them away?

I started chapter 13 5 months ago mainly for medical debt that I could not pay off. I thought I had included everything but there is a bill for $800 that I am being sued for. Do I just let my lawyer know or how does that process work if I wasn't aware of a bill? The bill would be from about 5 years ago.
