Grok’s AI safety backlash could become a hidden risk in the SpaceX IPO
The thing that really stuck with me from this article is pretty simple: AI is moving way faster than anyone can write rules for it.
Grok faced backlash over nudify style image tools before Musk geoblocked it in places where that kind of thing was illegal. That is not some tiny side issue if SpaceX is heading toward a monster IPO.
At that point, investors are not just buying rockets, Starlink and defense contracts. They’re basically buying Grok’s regulatory heat, lawsuit risk, whatever AI safety scandal pops up next, and every other headache tied to the wider Musk empire.
Don’t get me wrong, the bull case is still massive. SpaceX has the launch business, satellites, data and probably the biggest future story in the market right now.
But man, the bear case is getting louder too.
People might think they’re buying into the cleanest, most futuristic space company ever built. They might actually be buying every Musk controversy rolled up under one ticker.
