I’m feeling really stressed and would appreciate any advice.
I was waitlisted for UBC Vancouver Science, but I got into UBC Okanagan Science. I’m also waitlisted for my second choice at UBCV, which is Kinesiology. I got into SFU for Health Sciences and UFV for Arts.
I paid my SFU deposit because the deadline was May 1, but ideally, I really want to go to UBC Vancouver. If I don’t get off the UBCV waitlist, I know I’ll likely have to go to SFU. The problem is that I’ve recently realized I don’t think I want to pursue Health Sciences at SFU anymore. Outside of UBC Science, I think I’m more interested in Kinesiology.
I’ve been trying to figure out whether I can switch my SFU admission to Kinesiology, but I’m having trouble finding the right admissions contact. The UFV deadline has also already passed, so I’m feeling stuck.
Has anyone been in a similar situation? Is it possible to switch programs at SFU after paying the deposit? Should I consider SFU Health Sciences with the goal of transferring/switching, or something else? Can UFV do anything to change my program?
I’m honestly feeling really uncertain about my future right now and would really appreciate any realistic advice.
