Don't run the auxiliary battery down
Title sounds obvious but my partner and I just got stranded so I thought I'd share so you can learn from our escapade.
We had a picnic but weather forced us to eat in the car. My partner switched on the car for the radio but didn't press the brake in far enough to connect the drive battery. 20 minutes of radio later, warnings came on for ththe ASC, EV Drive and Brake systems.
We tried powering off the car but it wouldn't switch off. Reading the manual, it was a sign that the auxiliary battery was too low. Now we can't engage the Drive Battery or switch the car off. That meant we can't lock the car.
In the end we got a recovery vehicle out to charge the auxiliary battery for 5 minutes then drove the long way home.
Don't be like us.
