I recently got a 6-month multi-entry Schengen visa (France) on my first attempt through Bangalore VFS, so sharing my experience in case it helps someone.

I was honestly a bit unsure before applying because I had just switched jobs in Feb 2026. But things worked out smoothly, and I think a lot of it came down to how I presented my application. I received the visa in just 2 working days from application submission.

My trip is covering France, Belgium, and the Netherlands. The trip starts in Nice, where we’re attending The Weeknd concert, then Paris, followed by Boom for Tomorrowland, and ending in Amsterdam. Instead of keeping things generic, I clearly explained this full flow in my cover letter.

One thing I focused on was making the application feel real and well thought through:

* All internal travel was pre-booked

* Stay bookings were attached

* Event tickets were included

* A proper day-wise itinerary was shared

I also made sure to address my job situation upfront. Since I had recently switched companies, I explained both my current role and my previous job, and attached supporting documents like experience letter and full & final settlement. Also, I attached NOC from my current employer. I didn’t try to hide anything or make it look cleaner than it was.

For financials, I provided 6 months bank statements, last 3 years ITR, 3 months salary slip, 1 month credit card statement, and my stock and MF investments.

I also mentioned that I’m traveling with friends, and one of them already had a Schengen visa approved. I included that detail to show this is a planned group trip.

In the cover letter, I also briefly talked about my travel history (Thailand, UAE, Vietnam, Singapore, Philippines, Indonesia) and clearly stated my ties to India - job, family, and intent to return.

I didn’t overcomplicate things. Just kept everything honest, structured, and easy to verify.

If you’re applying, my only suggestion would be that don’t treat the cover letter like a formality. It’s where you connect all the dots for the visa officer.
