Repairing a backward compatible PS3 that originally had YLOD and I’m starting to lose it.

I’m repairing a backward compatible fat PS3 that originally had YLOD. I dumped Syscon and got 0xA0801001 and 0xA0801002, so I removed the NEC/TOKIN capacitors on both the RSX and CELL sides and started replacing them with tantalum capacitors. During removal I slightly damaged some copper pads and accidentally damaged a couple tiny SMD components near the RSX area, but those SMD components have since been replaced. The console now boots to XMB and stays on, but whenever I launch any app, game, or homebrew the screen goes black. The Blu-ray drive accepts and spins discs but no disc icon appears on the XMB. The laser is brand new and I already checked/reseated the ribbon cables multiple times. Does this sound more like remaining RSX/CELL power instability from bad tantalum installation, insufficient capacitance, weak pad contact, or something else? What should I test next with a multimeter?
