Edit; I didn't know KVM switches existed lol. I'm still learning about hardware, thank you to everyone for the info on the topic!
I have USB4 dock at my home/work desk that I use with my company laptop. Each one has a mouse/keyboard/ethernet/monitors hooked up to them so I don't have to plug/unplug all that stuff when I move from one desk to the other. I want to buy a desktop for gaming, but the only models that seem to have USB4 ports consistently listed on their specs are mini PCs & laptops, which makes sense since those are easier to move from one place to another compared to a full-size PC. But the convenience of just being able to plug in a new desktop into all my existing peripherals has me thinking I'm not the only one with this conundrum, & I feel like you just get more computer with a desktop vs a mini PC or laptop. Am I missing something? Happy to elaborate on my setup if needed, but I'm about to go to bed so I may not answer replies for a few hours. Any help/insight is appreciated!
