My buddy asked me to secretly take photos when he proposed to his girlfriend at this rooftop bar downtown. Im not a photographer or anything, just have a decent mirrorless camera and he trusted me with it.

Proposal went perfectly, she said yes, everyone cried a little, great night. I sent him a google drive folder with everything later that night, like 65 photos total.

Heres the thing. There's one shot right in the middle, hes on one knee, ring is out, she hasnt answered yet and his face looks awful. Like a man who just realized he left his stove on. Pure panic. I went back and forth on whether to include it but figured it wasnt really my place to start editing his memories and just sent the whole folder.

She went through it herself and found the photo. She laughed at first but then started asking him why he looked like that and if he had been having second thoughts going into it. He told me shes brought it up a few times now and its become this small recurring thing between them.

He called me and said I should have just quietly deleted it before sending. I kind of see his point but I also felt weird deciding on my own what he gets to keep. I had some money set aside to get them a proper engagement gift but the whole vibe has been so off since then that I dont even know where I stand anymore.

AITJ for just sending everything or should I have used some common sense?
