Hi Everyone- seeking some expertise! I'm PR (visa subclass 858) that was granted July 2021 with unlimited travel until the end of July 2026. I have an appointment this month for my citizenship interview and test. According to the timelines on the immigration website and posts here, the citizenship should be approved before the end of July, but I will then be awaiting my ceremony for the next 5 or so months (our council is notoriously backlogged).
Come the end of July, I'll be in a bit of a PR/citizenship limbo and I have some international work travel coming up in the latter half of the year. If my citizenship is "approved", can I travel outside of Australia without a resident return visa? Or, do I need to fork out the $490 for the RRV while waiting for my ceremony?
THANK YOU!
