Erie, PA, with a Canadian twist

I know Elwood City is meant to be based on Marc Brown's hometown of Erie.

Currently watching "Grandpa Dave's Old Country Farm," and the Canadian OUs are strong in this one. Repairing the "Hen hoase" is the theme of the episode. Dunno if Grandpa Dave's place is also meant to be in or near Erie, but the Canadianisms from the voice actors make me chuckle whenever I hear them in this show.

In "Arthur's Spelling Trouble," David is humming Ravel's Bolero!

Never realized this until decades later. The classical musician in me is satisfied. But, I will now proceed to have the tune stuck in my head for weeks. Thank you, Arthur.

Edit: Apparently it's spelled "Trubble" in the episode title.

Just drove that stretch and realized it had been dropped. 35 feels pretty slow through there. I think it used to be at least 40. Edit: it actually was previously 45, which is what I thought!

I've also noticed that Mt. Lucas has dropped from 35 to 30, so I imagine this is all part of some town-wide restructuring.

Edit: I honestly think Pennington/Hopewell could use some reduced speed limits as well. There main back road through there is posted at 50, I think, and that has always seemed incredibly dangerous.
