For the past hour, I have been researching bison hair. Yep, the hair that bison shed off in the spring. It turns out its is incredibly amazing for warmth, lightness, absorption, and is even fire retardant! It also doesn't have lanolin in it, thats what wool has that makes people itch.
The 100% bison clothing is expensive due to bison "down" being hard to obtain since a full size bison will only shed 4-6 ounces of usable hair a year.
Its not like super crazy expensive but I am considering getting a hat, gloves or jacket for the winter.
