TLDR, bf has not proposed but our house is coming.
My partner (35M) and I (30F) are in a committed 5-6 years relationship and we are getting our house early next year. Earlier this year we decided on the engagement ring and will be collecting it this month. he has not proposed yet nor made plans. We've talked about our future plans before (several times) and on getting engaged, so he definitely knows.
Without the proposal happening, and having to already plan for the house and the date to register our marriage etc, it just makes me feel that the proposal has lost its meaning in terms of the sequence of activities. And I'm kinda hung up on that and feeling lousy about it. Yet, i dont want to be the one who keeps asking him about it as i dont want him to feel that its just a checklist to tick to get our house (although practically its true).
Any advice?
Update: Thanks for all the perspectives guys! And yes both of our names will be on the legal papers. And from where we come from, it's a statutory requirement to produce to marriage certificate within 6 months from collecting our house.
