I think its easy to get "lost in the sauce" when it comes to Gunplay effects lol

Ive been reading through some Mouse PI for Hire reviews and I see a lot of people saying the gunplay is bad. Now, Im not going to pretend like its some bastion of FPS combat, but I feel like people have had their perspectives skewed by a lot of these more crunchy, bombasic shooters. Like, I see it a lot in discussions around shotguns especially. I feel like a lot of people expect shotguns to do 9 bajillion damage and explode enemies and blow out your speakers with sound effects. When you look at a lot of famous shotguns, though, its not really unusual for them to be mid-range 1-to-2-shot killers. I mean, even in Doom 1 and 2, the basic shotgun wasnt really this monster close-range killing machine unless you were fighting basic zombiemen and maybe imps. I dunno lmao, am I talking out of my ass?

Is it really bad to print blasters out of PLA?

I read a lot online that I should be using something like PETG to print blasters in, but I also see that Out of Darts prints stuff in PLA. Whats the best option?

I want to GM with this silly, science-fantasy world Ive been working on for a while. Pretty simple, largely just cool setpieces and funny npcs, tonally about on par with TF2. I was planning on just mangling DnD into vaigely doing what I want, but I know thats far from the optimal answer. Problem is, when Ive looked in the past, all the systems I find are advertised like "the perfect TTRPG for exploring a catholic cyberpunk city set in the cambrian explosion" or something like thay.

Theyre all really thought out and interesting, but I mostly want to homebrew stuff tbh. Ideally all Id want out of a system are some basic rules for roleplaying and skill checks, some already-made debuffs and buffs (like poison), and maybe a couple basic attacks and spells so I can have a frame of reference on how much damage the homebrew stuff should do. Ive thought about making a system from scratch, but considering Ive only played DnD and Im not even well versed in that, seems like a bad idea lol. Any recommendations?

Edit: bonus points if my players can use their old dice sets. Thatd make learning a mew system go down easier. I dont assume TTRPGs use vastly different dice sets but hell do I know? Lol

Im mostly just itching to make something again. Ive done a couple leedle dynamics builds, and also done a Breacher build too. Idealy Id like to make something thats not a stringer, not because I dont like then but because Ive made a lot already lol. Also, when I say cheap, I know thats a relative term. Im mostly thinking anything around 50 or under that. I do have a 3d printer lol. Any reccomendations?
