I lost the two most important people in my life, in one week. I need hugs

My girlfriend broke up with me, last Monday because she found a guy who 'better suited' her. Now, my best friend, just walked out on me, but I, supposedly, didn't do anything wrong. I can't take it! What did I do?!?

Please, I need hugs.

Would you consider it cheating, if your SO breaks up with you and, immediately has a new SO and why?

My girlfriend dumped me, on Monday, and by Tuesday, she had a new bf. I consider it cheating because there was an emotional attachment, she doesn't.

Who remembers the weekly Scholastic news film strips?

I remember having the whole grade get together, every week, to watch a film strip, showing pictures, from that week, in the news, with a teacher reading what happened with each one.

The Light

I was walking through life, when, unexpectedly, I was bathed in a soft, warm glow, that brought new life to me. Though I was grateful for the light, I didn't feel I deserved it, yet, everytime I doubted my worthyness of the light, a beautiful, soft voice reassured me that deserving of the light and it would never leave me. I was eternally appreciative of the light and, despite not feeling worthy, thanking the voice and showing the voice just how appreciative I was of the gift I was being bestowed, I did my best to shine my own warm glow back.

For ten months, I walked, thankfully, in the light, never failing to show my appreciation or shine my own light back, doing everything I could for the light, in appreciation, until, suddenly, the light turned off leaving me cold, lost and deserted. I cried out for the light to return and shined mine out, the response from the voice, now indifferent, 'i have found another, more deserving'. I cried, peaded and begged, shining my light into the darkness, wandering aimlessly, trying to find the light, the light would not return.

My gf dumped me, I really need hugs

My girlfriend, of almost a year, dumped me, three days ago, for another guy. I've been trying to talk her back, but, today, it became clear that it's done. She started dating the guy, immediately after dumping me, even though we hadn't finished talking about it. I'm heartbroken and have been crying for the last three days. I have two friends who have been helping me through it, and I'm eternally grateful for their help, I could just use some more hugs and support. I don't think I've EVER felt this much pain.

Carousel of Progress or Hall of Presidents?

I'm curious, if Disney put out a survey saying that they're going to get rid of either the Carousel of Progress or the Hall of Presidents, and it was going to be up to the fans. Which would you choose to remove?

I grew up in the 90s. When I was in middle school, Wannabe came out and the Spice Girls were in the height of their popularity. I've been a big fan, from the beginning, still am. Back then, there was a lot of hate sent towards them, from all ages. I've noticed the same thing now. Like I said, I'm still a big fan and still listen to their music, regularly and still get shit for it, which is fine, I like what I like and I understand that no one has the same taste in music as everyone else.

What I don't understand is why there seems to be special hate for groups like Spice Girls, Backstreet Boys, etc... Aside from everyone having different tastes in music, there just seems, to me, to be a special kind of venom shot at particular groups and singers. Does anyone have any insight they could share?

When I was in elementary school, our teacher read the first one to us, then my mom read the whole series to my sister and I. Such good books!

My sister and I watched this anti-drug movie so many times! Even though it was, basically, a movie length PSA, we thought it was so good! Who else grew up with it?

For me, it has to be Padrino by Smash Mouth. It's a fast paced, funny song and I fell in love with it on my first listen through of Feng Shui, their album with Walking on the Sun as the big single.

When you need to sit back and relax, listening to music, or listen to music to fall asleep, what's your go-to? Whether a genre of music, a single artist or a specific album.

For me, classical. I can't listen to it in any other atmosphere, it'll put me to sleep. I also discovered this is true with traditional Chinese music, it's so soft, slow and relaxing.
