Model advice

I have some models that I want to repaint, some are metal and some are plastic. What is the best way to go about this? Should I strip the paint then prime and repaint? Should I just prime over the old paint and paint normally? If I should strip it should I just use acetone or will that damage the model?

I also am open to non box art color scheme ideas. So far my only idea really for repainting any is I might do black and green fire dragons where the green is their fire color.

Also a handful of repaired characters I was excited about. The pointing arm on the hawk, the sword needed a blade on Autarch, the lance arm was broken off of my fire dragon and the blade was broken off of Jain's weapon.

Help identifying this model

Hi its me again, the guy who got handed a ton of models with no idea what anything looked like. For the life of me I can't figure out what this metal mini is supposed to be, and the guys from the store that were helping me are busy. Does anybody here know what this individual might be? Feels like a character to me but I am likely wrong.

I inherited ~5800 points. Now what?

Tittle I guess? There are a lot of metal figures, a lot of damaged/broken figures. I can recognize some of them, with some help from some friends at the game store I frequent I think we identified most of the collection? There is one set of models we can not for the life of us figure out.

So now what? If I want to play these models where should I start? I am newer to 40k and my only experience is limited Kabalite Cartel and I just picked up the Harlequin combat patrol and an extra troupe about a week ago.

Any guidance as far as what to be careful of, what detachments to look into, what your experience is playing Aeldari is greatly appreciated. What is the good, the bad, the ugly?
