Hey I’m wondering if anyone has experience with the trans clinic at CMHA YR I believe it is in Aurora, if so can anyone please let me know how the process was of getting started on HRT there?

What did you have to do, or who did you contact? What I did was email them and they told me I can book an appointment for registration with their programs. Is this the right way to go about it?

if so, how did it work, was it you had a first appointment for that then got on a waiting list to then be registered for the trans clinic? And then afterwards have another appointment which is the intake, or was the initial/first appointment more like an intake assessment?

After the intake assesment what did you have to do? (I’m assuming you just have to do a blood test and afterwards can start HRT)? Did it take a while to actually get to the point to get prescribed HRT, if so how long did it take total from the start.

is the process generally after the first registration you get assigned a practioner then do a intake assessment, then after see the results and get HRT? So 3 total appointments or is just two or less?

Any idea about the wait to actually get HRT would be much appreciated! Honestly if it’s going to take several months to get that started I’m considering doing DIY while in limbo to get it officially. From the excel spread sheet in the notes for the clinic it says 4-6 months so I’m wondering if I’ll actually have to wait that long for any appointment or too start HRT, or does anyone know if that’s old information/hasn’t been updated and it’s faster?

I’m in the process of getting prescribed transdermal estrogen, and have a question about anoniminity, I am under my parents insurance and it seems for all my other medicines they can see the name of what drug is filled under their insurance, is there any way to make it anonymous and fill it under their insurance or no? Is there a way to check! based on my research it seems there really isn’t :/? this really sucks due to cost, does anyone know the typical cash cost of estradiol patches? is the only anonymous way to fill it going to be to get a paper script and pay cash at a different pharmacy? is there any way if so to get it discounted somehow without using parent insurance or a way for the doctor to make it discounted?

hey I’m looking to find a practioner that can prescribe estradiol asap, my family doctor sadly wasted my time I booked two appointments in the last week hoping to get HRT, and on the second appointment they told me because they don’t have any experience with this/arent experts in that field they aren’t comfortable prescribing it, they aren’t transphobic/enby phobic at all, but said I need to get a referral or find another health care practitioner.

the first visit they referred me somewhere but that place called me and said they cant accept me/not eligible patient, and currently I’m confused if my family doctor will at all be able to find or send another referral for a place to accept me. (I think they just don’t have the connections or knowledge)

So yeah, ive now spent hours trying to research and find a place that I can get HRT from, so can anyone tell me where I can find wither a endo or even a nurse practioner for now or any health care worker, that will do HRT, they also ideally need to be in York region or Toronto. Most of the Toronto places I looked at won’t accept from my postal code. Also does anyone know if I have a family doctor can I not see another healthcare person that is just a family doctor even if they do trrans healthcare since I’m on their roster currently, I cant change family doctors since my current one is amazing otherwise. So yeah can someone please explain how that works regarding family doctors and who I can actually see and, self refer.

im desperate to start HRT and if I have to wait months for a waitlist will DIY, but even in that case want to eventually find medical support, I want to see someone asap so can someone also let me know if it’s possible or there’s any clinics that do walk ins/easily see new patients, or if not are easily accepting new patients with self referral. I’m willing to travel if I can get a walk in appointment or one in the next day or week.

Hey im wondering what the best methods for hair removal are that are more “temporary” basically as I save money to actually do laser and or electrosyis I’m looking for more in the now solutions.

i already shave/use a electric razor so I want advice specifically that isn’t that and or yields better results, currently i always have stubble and redness/irritation.

so I’m looking for recommendations for what would work and is relatively affordable otherwise for right now, let me know please if it avoids redness and irritation, for reference I have brown hair but my facial hair is darker than the hair on my head.

im also wondering for the future your recomendations on clinics in Toronto or the GTA for laser or electrosyis particularly trans friendly ones and what you paid/what are the most affordable ones, I don’t mind non trans friendly ones too if they’re cheaper and pretending I’m a cis man as well.
