Best Gyro Space option for all games?

Best Gyro Space option for all games?

Hello guys! I'm new to gyro. I know how things work on Steam Input, but I just tried JoyShockMapper and I really like it!

I'm looking for the best "set it and forget it" Gyro Space option that works for all games.

What’s the best for maintaining muscle memory across different titles?

Hey everyone,

I’m currently using controller for movement, but the gyro acts as a mouse for aiming. The problem is that my games keep stuttering or jittering whenever the gyro is active. I’m pretty sure it’s because the game is getting confused by seeing a controller and a mouse at the same time.

I’m thinking about just mapping my entire controller to K&M keys to fix the lag, but I’m worried about a few things:

  • Quick Time Events: This seems like it would be a huge pain. If the screen says "Press E" or "Press R," I feel like I'm going to fail the prompt because I won't remember which controller button I mapped it to. How do you guys deal with this?
  • The UI: Do you just get used to seeing keyboard icons on the screen while holding a controller?
  • Movement: Do you miss having the smooth 360-degree movement of an analog stick

Any advice or tips would be appreciated!

My last console was the PS2, and back then I avoided any game with guns because aiming with a joystick just felt completely wrong to me. So I switched to PC, went full keyboard and mouse, and got pretty good at it — but single player games never really did it for me. Even on hard difficulty I'd end up dropping games at 30–50% because something felt off.

Recently I picked up the Nacon Revolution Pro mainly for football, and I had no idea it even had gyro. I was just messing around in Steam settings one day and stumbled across some options I didn't recognize. Started searching and honestly felt like I'd found a hidden gem that nobody told me about.

I'm only on day 3 and I'm already convinced this is the only way to play. The satisfaction of landing a flick shot is 100x better than mouse for me — and I say that as someone who genuinely got good at mouse aim. I played Resident Evil 6 last night for 3 hours straight, a game I never in a million years thought I'd enjoy. Now I'm thinking about replaying a bunch of games just to experience them this way.

Anyway, I have a few questions for the people who've been doing this longer:

  • Can I use gyro for Valorant and PUBG on Steam and actually keep up with the lobbies, or is it still too far behind?
  • How long does it realistically take to get comfortable and consistent with it?
  • And just a random thought — imagine if the time and money companies put into perfecting mouse and keyboard had gone into developing gyro instead. Where would we be right now?
